Nice to see things moving along with SSD's I would like one for my netbook but figure I will wait until they start to really drop. We are still unsure about the longevity of these as they are still new but I would imagine made the right way it would lead to almost or at least a very minimal amount of failures compared to a normal disk HD.

Pfff, forget those itty bitty Eee PC SSDs. ASUS' 12.2-inch mini laptop weighs less than 3-pounds and offers 8-hours of unplugged freedom with some help from Intel's Atom Z520 processor and ASUS' own Super Hybrid Engine tech. Most notable is that massive (price too we expect) 512GB SSD, a world's first in a laptop according to ASUS. No price or dates yet, expect those along side the official press release later today.

Alright! +1 on this, didn't catch this info yet. Like you said, the failure rate is still too high for me. But soon enough, they will have the bugs worked out.
