I think I've posted my dogs before but we have an Australian cattle dog and Akita's. Being larger breed dogs and also being that we have cattle slaughtered, we make them bowls of meat and fat every few weeks. The protein is really good on their coats. Any of you do this for your dogs? They flippin love it!

Also, raw meats in general are not a good option for dogs if you buy from the store as the conditions for cattle and such is very inhumane, but being that we get them from my parents neighbor, its rather clean. Raw meat has made a HUGE difference in our animals.

LOL...I was cutting this up and just thought I'd share. Sorry, it is late ha ha

Cat eats special dry food that is $6/lb. Looks like any other cat food.

Our old cat would wrestle with our dogs and he would let me curl him in a ball and bowl him down the hallway and run back for more....someone stole him :(

I will trim the fat off of steaks after I cook them and hide them in my dogs food as a treat, or occasionally add some cooking grease or beef/chicken stock to his food. It is a good treat for them and like you said, the protein and meat enzymes are great for their bodies and coats

I can't imagine a world without big dogs LOL

This.

This.

I also do the hide and seek thing in the food (when I don't have a surplus of meat).

It's a huge debate between vets and owners alike and I've read some on it, but when it comes to raw meat I'm always just thinking "well how did they eat before they were domesticated?" Sure, they are not wild anymore and things change, but they still hold some of the same emotional dispositioned depending on breed, so I have a hard time thinking that their emotions follow a genetic path but their ability to process foods has changed all that much either.

I'm not a geneticist though, I could be totally wrong.

I just really do it as a treat lol. I am a bit lacksidasical when it comes to caring for the dog I guess. If he likes it and it doesnt seem to harm him, me, or my belongings I am pretty much OK with it lol.

He is pretty simple though, he will watch TV, stare out the window, bring me ALL of his toys at the same time... Loves a tennis ball more than anything, and is fascinated by nature. So his demands are pretty simple.

Now if I ever had a cat that would do that, I would totally dig it!

I'm allergic though. :crap:

Dun know why. Had cats growing up and I wasn't...

What kinda dog?

Pound rescue mutt. He has some german shepard in him, mostly lab, and something else because he is on teh smaller side of big... He is about 50 some odd pounds, but is small for those two breeds...

So you're saying your dog is poorly trained and attacks other dogs? :crap:
