Anyone see or seeing this? Apparently Disney pledged to plant a tree for every ticket sold opening (this) weeekend. I'm not really a tree hugger but I do value our environment and I love animals/nature. :hide: It's a cool thing they're doing I guess, but last I heard Disney itself wasn't very eco-friendly. Could've heard wrong, but it seems like a bit of a contradiction.

Hrm...i'm personally not, but my son is strictly breast milk (we don't use bottles) i'm thinking for the price of two tickets, food, travel time, etc. You can buy and plant your own tree for less. (And know that it was actually done)

Not sure, I haven't looked into it. It wasn't my main motivation to go see it, I just thought it was a cool idea. Or perhaps it's just a marketing scheme, oh well.
If they plant trees it will be on one of their parks so they can say "look what we did!"

Even though they may not be "eco-friendly" as of now, most major companies are heading that direction to gain usgbc points for tax day and what not. It's the new cool and catchy think to be all about green and LEED.
I may see it, not sure I would pay for it but maybe download. Definitely isn't important enough for me to get a tree planted. Sounds more like a gimmick for them to get their opening weekend box office money and records.
LEED's a marketing joke. You're better off putting the accreditation money into your design/materials.
But who gives a shit about having something that works better if no one knows it.
I mean, it's good and all, but there's money better spent....
LEED is my job security BTW, lol.

If this tree is going to be planted in my own yard, then I'll go see it.

They'd do more for the environment if they limited it to an online release.
Of course, they're not in it for the environment.

This is true if the builder doesnt give the customer the benefits of the tax breaks, but there are major tax shelters for homes built that meet or exceed efficiency ratings.
