Built my rig around being able to play games on it and have found I still only play CS:S and the occasional game of COD4. For some reason when I do game I prefer the PS3 over the computer probably due to being more comfortable sitting in a recliner as opposed to a computer chair.

I only play old games and haven't updated my PC in quite a while. I used to keep up with it religiously and update the vid at the very least every 6 mos. I did this because I enjoyed playing online and the various mods that were made for the games. then I just lost interest. Now I wouldn't see a point to PC if I wanted to start gaming again. the consoles are online now and in the end much cheaper for gamin than PC, unless you pirate all your games.

I buil this computer to be able to play alot when it was built. its 4 years old now has 4 gigs ram and an 8600 card old crap now but rocked when it was new. I just built a new one with my friend and its got all the latest goodies

I PC game. Mostly single players. I get too competitive when I play online. I find it stupid to stress over a game. And single player is a lot more relaxed, and chill. I can pause it, talk on AIM or lurk the forum, then go right back. Where as online play requires constant attention... like a girlfriend, or nG.

I still play COD modern warfare from time to time. I use to upgrade a lot back in my bachelor days, but I am married and have a daughter now so I got other priorities. The funny thing is my last upgrade was some time ago and my x850 pro can still handle all the new games except the ones that require shader 3.0, in that case I break out the PS3.
My only gripe is playing shooters on a console, I suck at it b/c I have been on the PC way too much. I need one of those gaming recliner chairs so my back wont be all fucked.

where can i get ff7 for the comp
Good luck with this. It's considered a collectors game now. I've been looking for a copy myself on places like Ebay and Craigslist. Everyone wants a premium for them, like 70 bucks +. I've seen people asking upwards of 200 bucks for certain editions of this game. And that's not the comp version, that's the PS1 version!
As far as the comp version goes, You can check with your local game stores, but odds are good you'll never see one there. I'd say keep watching Ebay and Craigslist if you really want one. If you don't want an actual hardcopy, there are other avenues, but they are less legal.

In other words, yes, I am very familiar with torrents, and ISO mounting programs. Although getting them to work in Windows 7 was a bitch.

Daemon tools will not work. You need either Virtual Clone Drive or PowerISO Virtual Drive manager.

It's full of elitist PC assholes that think their shit don't stink. You can sign up for their forums, as long as you promise to troll the fuck out of them. However, in doing so, you will most likely be banned within 24 hours. They are anal retentive there.

Oh yeah, I has a gamepad. There should be a way to use the keyboard as well, but that may require "other" methods.
Which ISO program did you use to mount it? Did Daemon tools work? The last time I tried it, Windows 7 blocked the driver. It was either hack the registry all to shit, or get something else. I got something else.
Joo have been raped.

NO shit? That is the fucking cat's meow! What about PS2 emulation?
You are lucky to have actuall PCs with a good amount of power emulate PS2 with consistent results, let alone a console powered by a 730Mhz PowerPC processor and a 243Mhz ATI GPU.
Here is the complete list of reliable emulators for Wii right now.
http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/List_of_homebrew_emulators
It plays GC out of the box since it is really just a refreshed GC sono emulation needed for that.

ya, well, ya never know. My PC can do some PS2 emulation, but I thought it would be a stretch for a Wii.
It is a stretch. Even though surprisingly it takes less power on consoles to achieve desirable emulation. Mainly because they do one task so all resources are devoted to it, but I don't see reliable PS2 emulation in the future. If anything I would expect a good XBOX(not 360) port first since it has been shown that they can actually port instead of emulate XBOX games due to the x86 structure of that console. The Wii may not be x86 but it is power PC with Linux at its core and it is easy to port to it what can be ported to x86/windows.
bigtoyota479
07-10-2009, 07:21 PM
Yeah, that makes a whole lot of sense. The XBOX was nothing more than a PC that ran nothing but games. Should be easy to port it to Linux. Well, maybe. Porting Windows stuff (xbox) to Linux has always been a pain in the ass. I wouldn't hold my breath on this one.
