Has anyone tried it?
Looks like for $99 + cost of netflix, I can watch nearly whatever movies I want.

Blockbuster has this, but if you pre-pay for 25movies ($100) you get the box for free.

So since this says it has TV shows on it, could it be used as a cable TV substitute?

can u watch whatever streams you want with that setup Randy?
I like these Rokus because they have wifi and wired network connections. I was planning on hard wiring it for the best speed/bitrate.

Whatever Netflix has. I don't use Netflix that often TBH.

I see. I'm just trying to get a grasp on how these things are set up. I am hoping I can go to whatever site I want with this roku thing, I mean what good is it if I can't stream porn?

I think the Roku only works exclusively with Netflix. Not sure if it has an other streaming capabilities.

that is what it looks like to me too. supports a few sites at the moment, with 2 being subscription based and the other pay per vid. hulu plus, netflix and amazon video on demand.
think I will pass for the time being, I already have a home theatre PC that can stream anything to my TV. It's just clunky to navigate.
