finally got the rings of death...crazy thing is that I dont play it much

.....but I think I know how to fix it

have the torque screwdrivers and the arctic silver thermal paste (cpu/gpu overheating crap)...and new screws/washers as well


I will get around to doing this on the weekend...will try to post pics

I know fbi90909 fixes these.. You may want to PM him on CA or something and see if he has any pointers.

mcmaster carr has nice screws for that I use the little panhead and longer ones to go all the way threw. I use a combo method of the drill/ don't drill. if you are local chicago area i could do it for 40 bucks as long as the standard fix is whats needed.

I know how to fix them. The most important thing is, the first time you do it, it won't work. There's a very sensitive amount of pressure that the heat sink / board needs. So, if it doesn't work, don't worry. Just loosen or tighten the screws. You want to try to get everything level. Be ready to spend multiple hours on this thing.
