I want something on the tall side. Not necessarily that wide.

DIY. You will be happier on the long run.

Dood, those are only 16" wide!! How much skinnier can you get with 15" subs in them?

I didn't really want the 15s, I don't really want those. I am just trying to start something to get ideas. It's called a strawman.

Ah, ok. I gotcha now. You want 10's or twelves then?

Not sure. I followed Iam's device on a sub and it worked out well. I guess my big decision is 2.1 vs. 5.1.

How big is your living room, and are you prepared to run all the wires for 5.1? If you want to hide the wires, it's a rather large project to do 5.1. Personally, I would start with 2.1, and you could always add the satellites later if you are not happy.

I used to have 5.1 so all the wires are already there. My living room is 13 x 17.

Your front 3 are the most important...

Concentrate on that.

I know this. My debate is the clean look of 2.1 w/ TV on wall v. 5.1 with good sound. I can't get the "clean" look with 5.1

I'd rather spend $200 more on B&W 685's.

Not in my area. I'd have to find an online dealer. I just need to STFU.

I don't know how to not settle. Going big intimidates me. You act like you never read CT.

It's why I will always suck at life.

I'm trying to encourage you asshole.

$600 on a decent set of speakers is not "going big" when you're already at $400 for CV's.

:fyi:

Even $600 isn't going big....I thinking my 5.0 budget is around $1.2k
