But anyones wife/GF have a recumbent bike? I am having a big arm surgery and the only way the Dr said I can exercise is in one of these things.
Said a treadmill or normal sitting bike will create too much movement thus I need one of these gay things.
Looking to spend <500 on one and just figured I would give it a shot here and I will also try some fitness type forums
Basically looking for a decent budget brand, I will only be using it about 4 months then it will probably become a new place to hang laundry.

I have a friend who does a lot of Marathon running and Triathlons. He recently got a 1600 dollar recumbent from an estate sale for around 500. Loves it, says its incredibly comfortable.

Without a doubt, however the novelty usually wears off after a while. :crap:

I just have no clue how you would ship it, does Fedex have a service where they will pick something up, unboxed and take care of the rest?

How hard to disassemble?

Nice when you do exercise on it incorporate some form of high intense interval training rather than 100% continuous training as many cardio bunnies do. Example 30 seconds intense peddling 30 seconds slow low effort peddling repeat for about 10 minutes. Also an effective form of training is Tabata google will tell you all about it.
This may be hard to do without lots of movement and since your goal is low movement you might want to incorporate this later on in your rehab.

It comes apart for transit. You will get slapped with "oversized" if you leave it as is.

Problem with that is, what the hell do I put it in? The seat and the neck come off if I recall.

My guess would be that you would need two big boxes, maybe dishwasher boxes? I don't know if that would cut it or not.
I got my speaker box shipped in a dishwasher box, the UPS guy was not thrilled about bringing it to the 4th floor

You can always buy boxes at UPS too. What location (state) to which state?
Edit: I ask because depending on location, I can most likely extend my discounts to you for a LTL carrier or a smaller van transport. LTL I get a 75% discount.
