So I pull a quote on progressive.com which comes out to $606/bi-yearly.. great I call them up this morning to pay for it and the bitch tells me she sees a 'not at fault' accident from January where some bitch backed up into me and says it's going to be $953/bi-yearly.

How the fuck can it be legal for them to charge me a surcharge for someone backing into me, I was not even in the car at the time

I sat and argued for about 45 minutes and even got a supervisor on the phone thinking it was a computer fluke but it was correct according to them. When I asked the supervisor she agreed it made no sense whatsoever.

Needless to say it looks like I will be riding it out with my local insurance company which is actually about $1600/yr so it's a bit cheaper than even the inflated progressive rate.

How something happens or particulars of an accident don't matter to insurance bean counters. However, this seems like an absurd difference for that kind of claim on your history.

Progressive was the highest for me, if you have Statefarm around you they were the cheapest for me.

I was sitting my my living room watching the plows clear the parking lot when I watched this bitch get in her car and proceed to back into me

Progressive is actually who I use, GEICO was the most expensive for me. I'm switching from Metlife to Progressive for my house insurance soon too. Well, if they are willing to give me a better discount. They only want to give me 7% discount on my home policy when I already have 4 vehicles??? Shit, I'll walk on that. I expect 10% MIN.

Did you guys know that GEICO was originally a government insurance agency? (GEICO= Government Insurance Company). The things we learn.

My insurance is $500/year from state farm.

I guess that's the beauty of driving a 19 year old piece of shit.
