You cant upgrade hardware through a firware upgrade dipshit... And if you were able to tell your ass from a whole in the ground, you would already know that the new iPhone 3GS DOES have upgraded hardware... Not much though, because there isnt much room for the hardware to be improved from the current 3G offering.

If you had read the thread title you would have known that this was for the OS update, not the 3GS release. The thread is titled "ATTN iPhone users", not "ATTN iPhone speculative buyers"

Please do us a favor, if you have nothing intelligent to say, step away from teh interwebz. I know you are jealous because you cant afford an iPhone, but try to not show it so much, you look pathetic when you grovel like this.

Eh, I don't need a toy, I have a device that suits me better. I apologize to you, I think the reason I get the most turned off is because it's all about marketing schemes with Apple, and they make so much damn money off of the iphone by doing little things and little things. They know they could've done everything in all of their releases in a single shot, but instead they amp up their marketing/advertising and do little by little to make more cash. I guess it's a smart move on their part, but to buy an iphone every year it comes out with new hardware is a little outrageous imo. There are some software updates that can only be used in this new 3G S version of the phone. And furthermore, 9/10 people I talk to who have an iphone get pissed off at me for stating facts about some things I need on a device that it can't do. Every phone is different, the iphone is superior to my phone in ways as well. The simplicity of the interface is unsurpassed by anyone, it's just that all of the people I talk to make it out to be the phone that came directly from the hands of god. I will play nice in reference to the iphone, Steve Jobs is just a tool :crap: It's not jealousy, it's the attitude that spawns from Apple's product. I think they put some subliminal messages in their advertisements that brainwash masses :sneaky:

As a counterpoint, I appreciate how all of the updates are available and compatible with older models instead of a company model like blackberry who just keeps coming out with more models, different models, constantly developing the next phone instead of building backwards compatability like the iphone does.

I have nothing against BB's either, I used to have one and I liked it a lot. However, I sold mine to get the iPhone and have never regretted it. All personal preferences though :)

My buttons will never break. I have had numerous phones with buttons, of the same brand, and not one has ever failed on me. Even I after I dropped it 20 ft onto concrete and it came apart. I put it back together and it still worked. Do that with your iPhone.

It was a flip phone, and I dropped it off the top of several homes. I once got pissed and threw it in teh work van, the phone broke into 5 pieces, the top part broke into 4 pieces and detached from the bottom (where the keypad was). It still worked, I plugged a headset into it and kept using it until VZW fixed it.
