well well well. so it seems that i am eligible for the cash for clunkers rebate. my current car is a 98 explorer with 210k miles on it. it tired, down on power, needs a few things here and there, but all in all, i think it can go for many many more miles.
the only reason im even thinking of picking up another vehicle is because of the cash for clunkers shit they got going. besides i could use a modern truck so that i can haul my motorcycle around. anyone own any of these trucks that can chime in about their reliability?
and if youre just one of those "get the toyota/nissan/colorado because its a jap/american car" then piss the fuck off. i dont need to hear about jap reliability because my explorer beats the piss out of the jap cars my friends have in terms of reliability, and i certainly dont need to hear about buying american with all that hillbilly bullshit.
so if you own one of these vehicles, give me some info about your experiences with them.

Mine was about $19k out the door. It is an 09.
The only thing is that I wish I had got one with cruise and tilt.

Not really. If I was going to purchase a new truck, I would get the Ranger again...no doubt. I'd get a few more options, but still would get the Ranger over the Colorado/Dakota.
I can't fit a full sized truck in my garage and I wasn't going to get a new vehicle and leave it outside.

nothing, im just being a bitch and trying to guesstimate what a new truck would cost me, even though like you said, we would do things very differently i would assume.
i should just go to the dealer and see what i can actually get versus what my imagination can come up with.
anyways, anyone actually have one of the trucks listed? this is probably going to end up on ca.com as well since we only got like 500 pricks here.

My friend's dad has the Fronteir and a guy at work has the Colorado.
The 4cyl in the Fronteir is crappy and the interior is plain...but to be honest the interior to all the trucks are rather plain. The Frontier is also slightly longer than the Ranger. The 5 cyl on the colorado gets worse gas mileage than a V6, but less power where it counts.
I cannot comment on the Taco as I don't know anyone who has had one. The people on the s10 forum who bought one liked them well.

frontier is gay and verry little aftermarket
colorado is a piece of shit
ford ranger or f150, also a piece of shit
dakotas are ugly, but you can get one with a v8, i think

i have 2 toyotas,(86 4x4 pickup-96 taco 4x4) both very good trucks
my first truck was a nissan hardbody- great truck but no aftermarket
brothers first truck was an s10- went through 2 trannys so far. i understand the colorado is a newer truck, but everything ive herd/read says its way under powered
chevy never got the small trucks right in my opinion
have an 83 ranger- good tough truck, but the drive train sucks ass. i know a few people with newer rangers and im not impressed and neither are they- f150? do you really want to buy a truck that the manufacture recommends having aligned every 6-8 months (at $200 to $400 a pop) ford trucks have always had problems with alignment
have a dakota that i use for hauling the dirtbikes- ugly as hell but it has the v6 and still runs like a champ
of course these are my opinions, and i have no experience with the specific trucks you pictured. and it isnt about american vs. foreign- for the smaller trucks, i would get the tacoma over all others, hands down. fullsize trucks is another story- i like the 3/4 - 1ton silverados & super dutys
and thats my .02

my f-150 has 130,000 miles on it and the only time it has been aligned is when it got new rubber and back in feb when i wrecked it...the stock tires lasted a good 50,000 miles, the first new ones lasted 65,000 and we just got new rubber on it at 115,000

this is true, alot depends on how you take care of the vehicle.
but, trucks are made for loading with shit and beating across job sites, or through the desert, towing shit, clim**** mountains. and in my opinion, f150 is the ford escort of the truck line. the f250 & f350, thats a real truck
