Plain and simple fella's, don't buy from there (www.dealercostcaraudio.com). Yes, the pricing is decent but I'm coming up on 2 weeks just to get a tracking number, I have had to consolidate 2 pairs of speakers for 1-pair (because I was told the other were delayed at the manufacturer). So I do this 2-days ago, get a set that costs less than the actual cost of my 2 sets and ask for upgraded shipping (numerous times). Tonight after I have to follow-up (yet again) he tells me 1-2 days and I will get my TRACKING number.
ha ha ha. Glad it was only 150 bucks. So I'm going to hit the store this weekend to get a pair just so I can get this install going (as I'm already going on my 2nd weekend of having to re-schedule.)
You get what you pay for, all I can say.

Can you get someone on the phone there again.. Have you asked them for a refund? If so tell them you contacted your CC company and they wanted you to try once more to get a refund before doing a chargeback they will probably refund you asap.

Told them tracking by Monday or I'm cancelling. I have a nice credit card. If I call them, its cancelled. I'm trying not to be douche (yet).

I never do it unless they refuse to refund or delay more than a few days as I know it can take a couple days to process sometimes.

U.S. Bank Select rewards Platinum. I'm still on 0% apr (6 months) lots of reward stuff, connects to my bank account so easy to pay. Very prompt attention to whatever I need (hold time for tonight was 10 seconds).

It is FTW unless you are at a place that doesn't accept discover.
My interest rate could be 100%, I am not sure. I haven't paid interest to a CC company in 5 years or so.

Be honest, was I out of line? Read from the bottom up.
Richard,
I don't trust this transaction. You continually pushed out dates, ignored requests, even when I offered to take a totally different brand at a loss to myself, you STILL were not able to give me a shipment time frame. 1-2 days until I "should" see a tracking number is not acceptable. I believe the options I gave you were fair you were just unable to satisfy these agreements.
I'm not sure which type of credit card you personally use, but your scenario of this cancellation is in fact totally incorrect. My credit company will have the money in my account on Monday. I have no paperwork to sign and unless you decide to dispute (which you are welcome to do and I will happily give you the information to contact them) the matter is already closed.
Did I ask for a refund? No, I asked for my product status numerous times, after which you gave me the answer of delay (I complete understand this) so I asked for a different brand, a single set, and to speed up shipping. To which I gave a request of a Friday delivery. You tell me 1-2 days till tracking "should" arrive? My thought here is on Monday I would yet again get "delay" and you offered a credit. A credit for what? Another product on your list that will arrive whenever there isn't a "delay".
I'm not questioning your ability to ship product, I just can see a trend in this transaction. I'm 2-weeks behind on doing this install for my wife because I have to wait for a product that should have taken no longer than 5-days to arrive. Your system had zero issue pulling money within 12 hours. You mention planet audio, but our last 3 or 4 emails were all about Infinity Kappa. The delay from Planet Audio is a mute point.
So again, I'm sure your on-time delivery is better than this, but this just didn't work out for me.
Good luck,
Justin
Justin,
Just out of sheer curiosity, why would you choose to start a credit card dispute as opposed to simply asking for a refund?
When you get the affidavit to sign, you will sign a section where it states that you have given a good faith try to have your credit card refunded for the transaction, but your merchant simply refused.
Did we ever refuse you a refund?
Please help me understand why one would choose a credit card dispute which can be up to a 60-90 day process, instead of asking for a refund.
Also, 95% of orders do ship within 24 hours. We apologize on this order, there was a further delay from Planet Audio.
Thanks for your email,

Communication is always important to me and I try to extend that back as I receive it. I appreciate your constant communication through this process. The simple fact is that this is taking far too long for me to get the speakers. What should have been a week process (including shipping) will be at 2 weeks shortly and no shipment has occurred.
I contacted my credit card company this evening and they have issued a credit to my account and are charging back from your account. Please DO NOT ship the product as the money has been cancelled.
Again, good luck with your business. You have an outstanding price structure system and hopefully you can figure out a way to more quickly ship product.

Ah, well that doesn't honestly help the rescheduled install for this weekend (since you delayed from the week before). I'm guessing you missed my 3 emails asking for improved shipping.
So I retract my previous comment about just putting may take up to 7-days to ship on your website. Consumers will skip a good deal when its half a month just to receive a product. At least I know I will.
I appreciate you keeping me in the loop. If I don't have the tracking number on Monday, I'll cancel the order through my credit card. Now unfortunately I have to order another set of speakers.
Good luck with business,
Justin

Afternoon. Just checking status on this. I haven't received the tracking number and you said in a previous email it would be a couple of days. If they are still delayed is there a substitute that could be done? I wouldn't mind combining the pairs price to get a single pair of more expensive drivers. I just need to get a set in my wife's truck.
Thanks again,

Excellent!
I was reading online about the delays in shipping and I had an interesting spin that you guys may want to try. Just put that there is an expectation for delays but this is sometimes necessary for your costs to stay as low as they are. Honestly, getting your email was more than enough to keep me satisfied. You have outstanding pricing which means you keep low overhead. Now not everyone will understand this, but just saying "look we may take a week to ship to help consolidate shipping, etc." may really help out. I'll buy from you again (of course planning an extra week of leadtime in there).
Thanks for the email back!

Good afternoon,
I understand your T/C says that after 7-days I should contact for shipping information, but could I please have status? If these are out of stock or are going to have extended delays, I would prefer to cancel or substitute as this was for an install planned for this weekend. If it is in que for shipment, please let me know overnight shipping costs.
Thanks,
Justin

Order Confirmation
Thank you for your order,
We have received your order, and are processing your order at this time.
As soon as your order is prepared for shipment and has a tracking number
assigned to the shipment, an email notifying you of the shipped status,
along with the tracking number will be emailed to this same email address.
If any part of your order is discontinued, or is no longer available we
will email you within 24 hours of placing your order typically cancelling
your order.
If you do not receive a shipped email and tracking number within 7 business
days of your purchase, please feel free to reply to this order confirmation
email for questions on why your order may not be on it's way. We will more
than happy to assist you with any possible delays.
As most of our orders do offer free shipping, typically all items ship at
the same time to reduce costs. In any event that one item is delayed an
excessive amount of time, you may receive a "Partially Shipped" status email,
along with a tracking number for the part of your order that was available
and is on the way to your address.
Your order number is: 36011
Date of order: 7/27/2009 01:22 PM

I would have asked for a refund, if it did not show in a week I would have done a chargeback.
I only say this because I have a merchant account and it seems that every time some douche wants to cancel service with me and is too lazy to open a ticket or call I end up getting a chargeback for $35 + the amount they paid and they just say they 'Had already canceled recurring billing' when they had never done shit.
I don't get many maybe 5 a year so I am not sure if it is true or not but there is supposedly some type of merchant rating similar to a personal credit rating which every chargeback gives you a 'bad mark' on your report.
There is a line in shitty customer service that a company must follow which you set and your decision is based upon weither you do a chargeback or not.
I will tell you recently I purchased 1 pound of gorilla shit from www.shitsenders.com and after having a few successful orders emailed them after a week and a half with no tracking info and asked for an update. Emailed every 3-4 days up to 4 weeks and then told them they have until Monday morning or I am calling MC.
No refund or update as of Tuesday and I called and had it put back on my card. I typically would not wait quite that long but as I had used them in the past with no issues I figured maybe they were just having an off week or two as it happens in small business sometimes.

Weird thing is my wife's forum was talking about mailing people shit. She came down and I was laughing, I showed her and she was like "holy crap, I'll be right back gotta go send that link".
It is one of the downfalls of buying online. Everyone is treated like everyone else. I'm such an easy going person though. If anyone really read the whole email you would see that I was fine with a delay, I was fine with switching speakers, I was fine with paying more for a speaker that cost less. I'm not going to be lied to though. For me, price is important, but the whole package far more. I usually find an online dealer and stick with them. Exactly how I do with suppliers for my company.
