You can't have good noms without good pots and pans.

I am looking for some high quality pans that do not have teflon. I am tired of that shit flaking off in my food.

I used plastic or wood. Even the wood scratches the inside of the pan.

My friend suggested cast iron for the skillets.

Maybe stainless steel for the pots.

I just use hand me down stuffs.

Caphelon is a good brand though. Just buy a decent cheap-ish set from a mega store.

That sounds backwords IMO.

Generally you will want your skillets to adjust to heat rapidly where you want your pots to hold the heat steady.

That is what I have now and it sucks.

A good set of stainless steel has worked best for me. After going through a shitload of nonstick types we got a nice set (Not expensive maybe $100) for a wedding gift 7 years ago and they still work great.

Stainless steel bro. You will not regret it. You can beat it up with a fork and there are no regrets.

I will probably have to get it a pan or pot at a time, but stainless steel looks like the way to go.

Good shit here. I have 4 or 5 pieces. They are made to last and cook real evenly. Lots of choices on finishes as well. I also have a hella expensive set of French copper stuffs. This is every bit as good.;)

I have cast iron pots :fyi:

They are hand me downs, and enamel coated. They work great and hold the heat very well.

They arent as great as stainless for just boiling water, but when you want to simmer something, or sweat some veggies, they are great.

Like I said, go to a big brand store, and buy something that is decent, but cheap, but works...

If you find you want/need something better, then upgrade. If not, then you still have something decent that works, and you are used to cooking with it, which is more important than actually having the "best" stuff...

Though a couple of my stainless steel pans have stained black from letting something burn in them.

Not sure if there is a way to get it off as it does not look good but can't taste anything in the food.. Maybe I will get some of that CLR shit.

Fill them half way with gasoline and heat to boil. The black will come right off.

Regular, premium only works when it is compressed.
