In this thread I would like a recommendation for a bread to try. Preferably something whole grain but I am willing to start with anything as a first loaf to get started.
I am assuming I should get one of those loaf pans like you make banana nut bread in right?
You will need a loaf pan, unless you want to make a round, then you will just need a baking sheet, which you can get super cheap from target.
I get all of my recipes from www.bigoven.com, and to be honest, I havent tried a whole wheat bread yet, but I do have this one tagged to try soon: http://www.bigoven.com/163650-Honey-Wheat-Bread-recipe.html
If you want to try something a little different, this is the recipe I use for hamburger/hot dog buns: http://www.bigoven.com/165729-Homemade-Hamburger-Buns-recipe.html
They are really good, especially when they are nice and fresh and warm. The dough is SUPER sticky though, so be prepared for that.

sweet thanks, which is the easiest to work with fast rise or active dry yeast?
I have always just used active dry. I dont have any experience with the fast rise.
The active dry doesnt take long to rise, just follow the recipe and do what it says: put it in some warm water with a little sugar, should only take about 5 minutes for the little guys to come alive and foam up.
Read the whole recipe before you start though, kind of plan things out. There are some steps you can do ahead of time to make things easier, or you can do some steps at the same time to go faster and save yourself some headaches.
