I've been looking for a new TV for a while, and lately a lot of stores have had toshiba tv's for good prices.

I've been eyeing this 40" 1080p toshiba at a few places for $649.

Any opinions on toshiba? I've been told by people to look at samsung and LG, but this deal is hard to pass up.

I can't really say how they are now, but years ago I sold them and I always thought they were a great value. I just bought a 20" with a DVD player for my daughter and the picture works great. The volume isn't great, but I think that is true with a lot of flat screens today.

Not too concerned about volume since it's going in my bedroom and I have a home theater for movies and such.

Just trying to see if it's worth that much or if I should drop another $50-100 on a different brand.
