at exhausts for my 03 Honda Civic, and it's hard to find something that doesn't sound like a pissed off bumblebee in a pop can. I've narrowed it down to two options. I like the deeper sound, kinda rumbly, but smooth and not tinny. I don't want to be some ricer with a glasspack, but I know there's not much you can do with a little 4 banger to keep it from sounding like that.

1. Magnaflow. Either a universal muffler, or one of their cat-back systems. Something without a 5" tip hanging out of my car though.

2. Found a new (to me) company in Canada called Vibrant Performance, anyone ever heard of them? Used their product, or know someone who has? I'm really liking the sound of their exhaust, and they have some stealthy looking universal fits that will keep that stock look.

i had one of their universal muffler on my car with 2" pipe with a resonator and it sound nice, and looked stock.

I put a 40 series Flowmaster on my 240SX's. It sounded awesome except for when the motor was cold. It kind of had a "canned" sound until it warmed up, then it sounded sick.

Flowmasters on little ricers sound like ass, IMO. I've got one on my Yota, but it's got a larger engine with a bigger stroke and a lumpy cam in it.

Maybe, or it could have been a 50 or 60 series. Those tend to be really quiet. The 40 series should have been pretty perky.

idk, when i bought the car it was already on there. all i know is that it when i took it off it said flowmaster on it lol. i replaced it with a stock muffler :crap:

While I admire your enthusiasm to customize your car if there is no 'go' behind it then just put a nice looking tip on the end of the stock exhaust and save your money for something else.

I don't want a fart can, hence the mangaflow and other option I had. I'm not going to be able to afford a new car for a while, so I figured I may as well customize this one a smidge. All I want is a muffler and maybe some wheels, but we shall see. I Craigslisted an intake and strut bar for 50 bucks, which you will see in my upcoming Big 3 install thread.

my father in law has a grand marquis (crown vic clone)
he had the exaust done-crossover pipe, dual flowmasters, and it has plenty of "go" to it, but he also has a programer. then he re-geard the rear end-from 2.73ish to 3.73, now it realy moves. it will outrun newer mustangs

now hes looking for headers, but cant find any that will fit that car

you are being a douche. Plenty of smaller engines sound good with exhaust. it just has to be the right exhaust for your power/mods.

but I don't think "fart cans" should be put on any car. only tasteful exhausts.
