I know you guys have them

Here's some squat vids from a few months ago

Not the strictest form but hey it happens when you go heavy as fuck

365x2 @ 168.8lbs

YouTube - 365x2@168.8lbs

230x4 Front Squat at 168lbs Went pretty deep on these

YouTube - 230x4 Front Squat

Probably could have grinded out another rep but I never go all out on Front squats so I don't wear myself out for back squats.

4 plates by 2010 or bust!!

nice!!

I only have one vid of me lifting and that is just bench at 300. I'll have to take the camera to the gym sometime.

I'm sure that uber flaming will happen, but shit like this is good motivation for me. So keep em coming.

Oh and I suck at heavy legs. You destroy me there. I need to work harder at it.

i have a knee problem too but im a stubborn fucker who keeps on squatting heavy.

worked out legs yesterday and for same reason my acetabulum (joint where femur connects) is hurting pretty good today. Usually its my left knee hurting the day after legs..started last summer and it comes and goes..Afraid to get it checked out cause knees usually wind with surgery.

Careful. Make sure you have good flexibility in your hammies to you don't have more than needed stress building up on the knees. You ever try wraps?

never tried wraps but I really think I need too. My hammies are rather large no more than I have worked them.

Think wraps will help the knees? Like I seriously am afraid I may need knee surgery in the future. But i'm stubborn and have to squat heavy all the time.

i highly doubt that.

im guessing the one squat with an enormous amount of weight is just to "show-off" and could be dangerous to ur muscles imo.

go low and do sets of reps and build teh muscle quit trying to do one of the most amount u can.

Deerhunt is fucking crazy for pushing that much weigh without a spotter.

Been doing it for years.

I have a safety catch about halfway up the rack in case I get in trouble. Use it every once in a while. If I ever have any doubts about making another rep I go ahead and rack it.

I can remember one time on decline I did have to dump the weights. Put a nice dent in the floor. lol

Only time I ever have a spotter is when I am maxing. Which should be coming up soon.

Low reps, mane.

You shouldn't highly doubt it, it is true.

Go look at Olympian bodybuilders routines. Some days they spend the entire day doing a single rep per set and only a small range of motion.

Do you get ripped and strong doing a single set, no. There are however huge advantages to doing it too. I will regularly do a full workout and attempt to max out on that muscle group. Sometimes, the max out is for the max weight...sometimes it is the number of reps at a very low weight.

When I am trying to gain, I have no idea. But at least 1g/lb bodyweight.

When I am cutting, I count my cals and proteinz. Shoot for closer to 1.5g/lb bodyweight then. Thats gonna be my goal when I start back cutting in January.

Calves are 75% genetics or more...Some people who don't even work out have great calves, while some who bust their ass struggle getting them up to par (me).

Now quads/hamstrings are where you can really tell if someone neglects lower body.

Arching back=very bad

I occasionally do it to get a last rep in. I focus on form now way more than I used to.

No way in hell I will ever get close to that.

Now my brother has the stature to bench 500lbs. Hes 6'3 with a build very similar to mine. BUt he would work out a few months, quit a few months. Never really got anywhere but hes BIG naturally.

hes seen them. he just keeps asking. lol.

When I am trying to gain, I have no idea. But at least 1g/lb bodyweight.

When I am cutting, I count my cals and proteinz. Shoot for closer to 1.5g/lb bodyweight then. Thats gonna be my goal when I start back cutting in January.

Get to your correct extension and have someone mark it...just put something on the ceiling that comes down for you to bump.

I do agree that the protein intake is important (far more than I make it). Junior really has setup some nice plans for peeps on here and they work! I just have never felt good taking in that much protein.

ah I see

And I worry way more about protein when I am cutting due to the caloric deficit.

My highest bench max was when I was eating whatever the fuck I wanted to and getting plastered 3 nights a week. lol.

Arching your back is good for benching and helps fully utilize the chest and prevents torn pecs and shoulder joints.. Bridging the back however is a big time no no, unless you want to injure yourself. Always make sure your but, shoulders, and feet have contact.

Nothing major but im pretty proud of myself. I have never broken the 200 barrier though :( However, I dont really care about the weight part. I just really want some 16" arms. That may sound huge to some and small to others but imo that is big enough to make me happy

Hey all. Been a while since I've posted. Been busy with two full time jobs, and training several clients for shows lately.

As far as protein intake goes, a male needs 1 gram of protein per body pound in order to MAINTAIN the muscle they currently have. In order to GAIN muscle you need 1.5-2 grams of protein per body pound.

And Thomas is correct on proper form on bench. You SHOULD arch your back. only your shoulders and ass should be in contact with the bench.

Thanks. I never looked at it that way. It's kind of like you have to eat a certain amount of calories to maintain your body weight. I'm just going to start eating anything that has lots of protein, even if i'm not hungry.

Best way to get your protein intake up is with shakes. The two main types of protein powder you should take are an isolate and a casein. An isolate is absorbed by the body very rapidly, so it is best to take right in the morning, and immediately after your workout. A casein protein breaks down very slowly, so it is best to take right before you go to bed, so your body can use it throughout the entire night to replenish muscle tissue. Just make sure that you eat as many, if not, more, solid food meals as you do protein shakes in a day.

I am not sure how much weight the shirt can add to the bench but it is alot. Basically its holds your arms straight out were you can't even bend them without a weight load on them. Good press! If you can floor press more than your bench then your bench technique is off or you triceps are ridiculously stronger than your chest. Correct your form and I guarantee your numbers will go up. How's your leg drive and arch while bench pressing?

lol I'm fucking with you. But that really wasn't a full squat. Just making sure you know.

I haven't been able to squat recently because I got shingles which makes my lower back hella fucking sore. Once I get back into squats I will try to get heavy with it, but like always, no spotter.

a narrow stance is no excuse to do half squats. Why do you keep it narrow? A narrow stance is a fine variation to do but not always. Get a little bit wider go to parallel or below and post another vid :).

Good press! If you can floor press more than your bench then your bench technique is off or you triceps are ridiculously stronger than your chest. Correct your form and I guarantee your numbers will go up. How's your leg drive and arch while bench pressing?

Couple vids from tonight

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCpeDbLQ3aY

140x15 incline DB Press

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_K9MGHJXq8o

I max 365 on bench. Good point on the leg and arch but I keep my legs up and crossed for everything but max lifts. Also toe-in so when I am heavy I still cannot arch up.

Floor press sounds interesting. If i had someone who'd fucking spot for once i'd try it.

You can do 225-275 without spot big boi, no question about it. Floor bench is way easier than regular bench IMO

I have to work on FORM for squat hardcore. I worked out with 225 yesterday and if my lil sis wasn't there, it would have been bad. I'm always crossing the knees over the toes and shit. The weight is nothing to me however.

I never tried maxing out on floor....just something I do really. Only about twice a quarter.

Jack3d is scary strong and I'm a big time energy guy. I have read that you will fail drug tests on it though so that is a bit scary.

It made me high pretty much instantly and I had a great lift day, Saturday's usually are though. I'll give feedback on how well it really works after another dose.

Why the chains and bands on bench though? What benefit do you get aside from just adding heavier weight on a standard flat bench.

Yea for chains that how simple it really is. You can't just coast through the lockout bands and chains make the tension a lot more heavy at the top.

Bands you can set up in many different ways.

To sum it up bands increase the time of maximal or near maximal force and increase the eccentric load which lead to increased strength. They also decrease deceleration so the movements are more like the movements in sports and allow you to work at close to maximum power output throughout the entire range of motion.

http://www.elitefts.com/documents/science_behind_bands_and_chains_.htm

A lot more effective that just using straight weight. It makes the sessions so much fucking harder though.

Until I go past 305, I keep my legs up in the air and crossed. Keeps my back flat as soon as I hit 3 plates, I switch to floor.

x3. ahahaha. Never even worked out at a gym but a few times but theres no way I'd ask for someone to record me unless I was the biggest baddest mofo that worked out there.

May try the legs crossed thing. My main focus is keeping my butt and shoulders on the bench on the last heavy rep or two I push up.

Okay so I got tired of watching shoulder presses and shrugs.

Was hoping for some heavy benches, deads, or squats.
