:(
I am at work so I get to be raped tomorrow for $220 for one of them when I could have ordered them off ebay for $60/pc.
My question is can I do any damage running on it with a bad coil pack? It seems to go away for a bit then come back and start to run rough again.
I have a 20 mile roundtrip for lunch and then about a 40 mile drive home tonight. Wife is not working tomorrow so she can drop it off to be fixed and I will take her car tomorrow.
My guess would be a worst case scenario of an occasional misfire... I dont know though, what car?

sentra gxe 1.8
it seems to start to sputter a little then when I give it gas it is fine and sometimes goes away totally for a bit.
They literally just drop right in so I am going to see if I can find them at advanced down the street and install them at lunch.

Well I got them installed and still have them same issue :(
I am surprised as it happened twice before with a rough idle and both times it was a bad coil pack so I was hoping it would fix the issue.
I plan on running this car into the ground and needed them anyway so it's not a total loss but still frustrated that I have to bring it down to the mechanic still.
I didn't reset the computer but the NAPA guy said I shouldn't need to.
Have the car parts store scan the OBD computer and see what code it spits out.
Could be a spark plug, maybe.

Just going to drop it off tomorrow, the plugs were changed a few months back but I suppose it could be a bad one.
Kind of pissed I spent $200 on coils I didn't need but it would have needed them at some point anyway and I had been putting it off.

this.
Return them and order the cheaper ones off of ebay...
Is it throwing a CEL code? That should tell you what it is, and if it is a misfire, which it sounds like, will tell you which cylinder.
Could also be an injector...

CEL has been on for months due to a fucked up cat. converter  I dunno if the code reader can scan two codes at a time or not
The converter does not bother me, smells like rotten eggs once or twice a month but I am putting it off until I go for inspection in January.
They can scan multiple codes. But the cat could be the cause of the problem.

Soooooo for the fuck of it I swapped out the 'new' coils I bought a few months back and bam she started to run fine again so one of the coils he installed three months ago already shit the bed.
I am going to try and get a free replacement as I did spend $250 on the piece of shit a few months ago.
