Im lookin for some ideas on how to frame a work shirt to hang in my room. as always, as cheap as i can drag by on. its a big shirt from a good friend so i could never wear it as it is 2 sizes big on me so i figured id frame it. anyone done it before?

did he pass away?

get one of those jersey pictures, rip the jersey out and put it on, and insert shirt.

imo :-P

or just go get an empty frame big enough for it and use some tape to hold it up

yeah. it depends on what state/s you plan to. 40hour class for highwall/longwall (abouve ground) and in the kentucky/indiana area youll start at roundabout 18 and housr, working 5 12s, which means 20hr overtime a weeks. and underground is as an 80 (i think) class and youll start around $22 on a straight 40hr week. my whole life iv been around coal, and at my current job i work with coal everyday, on the ohio river. i wouldnt suggest moving anywhere around this area just to mine. thats just all my area is pretty much. i think im the only person on the site that listens to bluegrass while lookin around on here haha. but i can get you info on it if your serious. but it is VERY hard work and you come out VERY dirty but it pays good. shit i come home black as hell everyday and i dont even mine. coal will itch you worse than anything ever if you dont come straight home and shower. plus i have to clean the bathtub/shower which takes close to 20-30min twice a week...that kinda sucks.

^^ see, it takes a special kind of guy to go 1200' underground. only to be surrounded by more coal than you could ever imagine. its for sure not for anyone whos in the least big afraid to get REALLLLLLLY dirty. i use about 2 bars of lava soap a week! just curious gore, where you live?

theres mining in pa i know for sure, i just could do it there. i hate a northern accent worse than anything. as far as drugs, no way. they drug test more than anyone else. cant have anyone under any influence in a coal mine. toooooo much danger sober. just lookup pa mining. i dont know any locations. never thought about pa. i know alot in kentucky, a couple in indiana and a few more in west virginia, im in greenup county kentucky. been here in the same house all my life. im 5 mins from ohio and about 30 from wv so thats why i know what i know.
manual labor....you need to read up on modern coal mining buddy.

a career in coal mining? :keke:

fanninator
10-11-2009, 10:21 PM
nope. we fix what they fuck up. we use exavador with a huge clam bucket and bobcats to clean them out for different grades of coal to be put in them or gravel, wood chips, or whatever they may be hauling. and if need be we rebulid bow/stern ends or hopper holes, boundary angles, rake sheets, seems, cracked out welds, whatever may be wrong. these things get abused hard everyday so thats what were for!

If you think coal mining is a lucrative career you are wrong. It is probaly one of the worst jobs to have. I have family that lives in right outside Pikesville Kentucky and they mine coal. They are dirt poor and in very bad shape from working in the coal mines. I suggest you go back to school.

fanninator
10-17-2009, 03:59 PM
pikeville, no "s". yes im about 3 hours from there. who do they work for? because they are doin it wrong. trust me! the average starting is 50k a year. for this area, its pretty good. good nuff for a buddy to drive a V8 truck 2-2 1/2 hrs each way from elliot co to martin county, to work for martin county coal?
