I want to look dead sexy in a speedo by the time spring break rolls around. I mean dead sexy.

Any suggestions?



New food routine

9am Bowl of Special K yogurt stuff with skim milk. Glass of v8 fusion

Noon Slim Fast

3pm Turkey/chicken lunchmeat on whole wheat thin bun. v8 fusion

5:30 Slim Fast

9:30 2 Baked chicken breasts and glass of skim milk. maybe v8 fusion?

11 - Midnight Peanuts??



Gym routine

Spinning classes 3 days a week
Weights 4 - 5 times a week (day 1 back/biceps, day 2 chest/triceps, day 3 legs, etc..)




And before anyone says anything about it, I prefer the taste of slim fast over the power bar things, plus it seems to be just as healthy

I have always like veggies/fruits so I don't have that much of a problem.

I do like them, it's just so expensive to keep fresh fruits and veggies on tap.. plus I'm usually short on time and they take preparation

My mom bought me some bags of 5lb mixed frozen veggies from Sams (like a Costco, a warehouse store) and they were just like $5 each. Also bought me some ziploc steam bags made for cooking them.

Put the veggies in the steam bag, microwave, and voila. Shits good and cheap :fyi:

Excellent man! Very good starting place indeed. Don't forget to let yourself have freebies. The reason many people fail on diets is due to totally cutting the things they love. If you do that too long, you just end up going overboard the first time you actually get it.

Gym routine

i JUST started this routine.

seems much better than my old 1. chest/back/shoulders, 2. arms, 3. legs routine.

especially because legs used to consist of playing open hockey lol. now i actually lift, and can barely walk today :fyi: (i did legs the day before yesterday) :banghead::crap:

I buy the 5lb bags of frozen mixed veggies at walmart and steam about 6 cups worth to get me through Sun-Wed while I work. I tried it with fresh but it does get expensive and is just much easier throwing a bunch in a steamer and having it for a few days ready to go.

I have much more success when I have everything cooked for the work week ahead of time rather than trying to cook a full meal everyday.

As for fruit there is unfortunately no easy way to prepare it other than eating stuff you can eat with your hands ie: grapes, apple, oranges etc.

Today I am having sliced fresh strawberries and raspberries nom nom

The fat will come off easy if you stick to your diet next year. I'm telling you....Start cutting in January and you can easily shed 8 pounds by March. I was amazed at how easy it is. Just gotta be motivated.

Are you looking to gain any mass? If so I would replace the slim fast with protien shakes. Ideally you need one 1gram to 1pound of your weight.

i doubt you'd gain a ton of mass with just that iron gym thing. once you got stronger you'd need to add some weight somehow.

and it basically just works the shit out of your back. and chest i guess if you do the pushups deal. the dips seem to have zero range of motion though.

honestly, nobody cares in the gym if you can't lift much. everyone started somewhere.

Just read up on some gym etiquette and you'll be fine.

For sure.. try to find a good gym too. The place I work out at now is a huge arena with basketball courts, indoor track that surrounds everything, fitness room, and weight room. Tons of high quality equipment and I only pay $50 a year with all aerobics classes included (except spinning classes, which are only $2 a class). It's called a community life center and it's part of a church, which is next door. Great deal and the people inside are very nice. I lucked out.

You need to get more chest workouts in. A larger chest will make your whole body appear bigger.

I know this. That's the one thing I'm not happy with (besides lower abs and calves). I'm headed to the gym in a couple minutes, any suggestions for chest? I'm doing chest and triceps today. Usually do 3 sets on bench, 2-3 sets on incline press, dips, french press, and chest fly's. Also 20 min cardio and ab shit.

Add decline bench to your chest day. Shit has helped me out hella. Could also add flies.

It isn't necessary. The whole Pectoral Muscle is worked when you do a simple dumbell press or bench press, it's that simple. And i already said, if you have a huge chest then do them, but you still only need to do 2 exercises at most for chest.

Like i said, unless you already have a big chest you don't need to do more than one or two exercises a 90% intensity. For someone like me and you, our workout should look something like this

Flat bench

45x12
135x8
155x6
175x4
max

That right there for the average bodybuilder is enough for chest. If you want, mix your workouts up and do dumbells or decline/incline the next time you do chest, but there is never any point of overworking a body part unless you are really experienced.

Fa showzies. Alright, I have around 35 SX left. I have two options.

Should I...

a) start taking the rest of the bottle 35 days before spring break

or

b) use them for my 11 hour days of class


I have enough to last me through this whole semester since the 11 hour class blocks are only twice a week. HRmmm....

I believe you have the willpower now to keep motivated and at the gym. My suggestion is use them for the 11 hour days. You will stay focused, continue to lose weight and you can just maintain that before spring break.

I disagree on the weight loss though. I think your weight is fine. notice in the second pic, no definition and you almost look sickly. Third pic the definition started coming around and you look 10 times better. Keep putting on some clean mass to make it pop out. Lots of ab work to build those up as well.

Yeah, I agree with you. I think he will add some weight and lose some gym time due to the classes though. So it should keep him in the right direction.

JP was pretty thin at "go" though. So really a clean bulk and after that a cut down would have worked better.

2nd pic was after a week on SX. I think I was getting so irritable with people because my body knew it needed more calories than it was getting. Also made it difficult to gain muscle. Now I'm eating lots again and just staying focused at the gym.
