Today I was doing 75lb bells on military press. I can do them pretty well (working 5X5) but really can't get into position. Anyone have a trick/tip? I just made my spotter lift it up today ha ha

most people either have the spotter do it or get some momentum going by lifting up with your legs while the bells are on your thighs.
might get interesting at heavier weights if you do the kick up thing... wouldn't want to get too much momentum going and end up going too far.

What I like to do is make sure you can reach your toes, you must be very limber. Then lay on your back and grab your ankles pulling your legs up and over your head, ease up the tension on your sphincter muscle. If you still need help I can swing by tomorrow night instead of Thursday to go over this with you.

Exactly what I do when I get heavy. You risk injury trying to throw them up there.

Why not just use a barbell?

I prefer the DB's because it forces me to stabilize more.

ah. I only have solid DBs that go up to 45. I have the bar DBs that you can add weight too and put on collars, but no way in hell I am trusting that thing with more than 50lbs on it.

lost your email...
No routine, thus no improvements.
started doing the parts of the p90x thing.... abs on MWF and I am going to try to do the yoga part tomorrow. No interest in doing the whole thing...15 minutes of that ab workout seemed to do better than the crunches, situps, etc routine that I normally do...and far more challenging.

You mean you need help getting the first rep up, or getting the db's to your shoulders. If just getting them to your shoulders I always put them on the end of my knee and kinda throw them up there. If you mean the first rep then usually I stand up, kinda jump up on my toes to thrust them up, stabalize them and then sit down.
