I have a Rudolph thats about 4' high and 3' wide that a few of his bulbs went out a year or two ago and it took out an entire chunk of his hind leg. I tried replacing the bulbs but have not been able to get him to light up.

It uses those smaller christmas bulbs now so I was thinking it would be pretty badass if I could replace all of them with LEDs thus making him much brighter (Love pissing off the neighbors) and making it so I do not have to replace bulbs every year.

I would need four colors I think white, orange, red and yellow and he does go outside so it would need to be something waterproof.

I went to Radio Shack and the faggot just kind of looked at me like :ugh:. There was a point where RS nerds where on top of their game but I guess with money issues they don't pay for good help anymore.

You would need some kind of an inverter, I think, to turn 110V AC into some low voltage of DC. Maybe 5-12 volts depending on the LED's you get. Also, trying to find LED bulbs that screw into those may pose a challenge.

Don't listen to any of what I just said. I just found some 110V AC LED's. Can you get me a pick of your bulbs, and I can get a link to some LED's?

I need a pic of the bulbs they are replacing, so I know what the socket size is. I've seen some 110V LED's, for full size sockets, but they are looking kind of pricey.

ahh ok one sec.. I was thinking I would have to replace all the wiring etc which would be fine if its cheaper but something that plugged right in would be ballin

You may decide not to after you see the price, lol. You're looking at about 4-6 bucks a piece, but those may be for full size ones too. I'm hoping the mini's will be cheaper.

After lighting him up it seems to be his head that is fucked now his ass.. I tried to get as clear of a picture of the bulb as I could.

Wife paid $100 for him I think (don't ask) so if I can salvage him it would be nice.

Oh, so they are the mini-mini lights. For some reason I thought they were the screw in kind, lol. I'll see what I can find.

Ok, here you go. This page has 25 pack replacements for 6 bucks. Different colors too. You want the M6 Flex mini's. They only have green, red, purple, and blue though.

Thanks dude, now I need to figure out why the entire section of him went out. When I replaced the one bulb they just never came back on for some reason I just I need to use a DMM or something to test all the 'sockets?

I would imagine it's because the lights in that string are in series. One bulb goes out, takes the rest with it because it's not flowing electricity anymore. I hate series strings, PITA bigtime to find the burnt bulb.

What I usually do is grab a known good bulb, and start swapping them out until the string works. Or, I just say fuck it and go spend 10 bucks on a new string. If you're going to replace them with LED's, I wouldn't worry about it, because they should all come back on with new bulbs.

Hmmm.....how many strings of lights are inside him? I'm thinking it may be cheaper to just get a new string or two of LED Christmas lights. I found some 70 LED strings for 22-30 bucks. Here's another place to get them, but MAKE SURE THEY DON'T SAY 12V! You don't want 12 V shit in your house socket, lol.

I am not sure, its just a mess or curly wires back there. I thought they would be all on one string because it is just one plug but I am guessing I am wrong.. I can take a pic but its pretty messy lol..

They don't do M6 style christmas lights. Or any Christmas lights for that matter. I looked. :fyi:

However, they do have a rather large selection of other LED lights.

Not worth it. The amount of money != the satisfaction you'll get.
I assure you.

Oh, and if you want good help from RS, ask for the manager. They're nearly almost the only ones knowledgeable in those hell holes.

Not true.
You just need to get the right ones.
They use LEDs to support Reef Aquariums... which require much more light than Marijuana.

So, considering it's penetrating water and giving enough light energy to support photosynthesis... LEDs are fine.

"Much more light" and the correct spectrum of color for proper THC production are much different.

I read a bunch of research articles on how the wave length on LED's, even large expensive LED array's, are much less efficient than your normal HPS lamp.

But, they are researching ways to use it more effectively.

We have a prelit tree that just got set up, almost half the lights were out. After some research I found out about a thing called light keeper pro, apparently the shunts sometimes won't make contact, and that's why a section won't light up. You plug this thing in to a socket then pull the trigger a few times and sure enough the lights work. Worked for me anyway, costs about $15-20

I've got to assume that a stoner with above average intelligence knows what he's talking about if its something he has any conviction for. If you've got the dedication to spend an overnighter explaining the key to life locked inside a Tom Petty song to the poor bastard just trying to get on his way after selling you some ditch weed. Imagine what you can do with something that actually makes sense.

Wait...
