Trying to get a 4 channel, I can do 2. Around 50-100W / channel. I want one with S/PDIF input.
I don't really want to spend over $200, if possible.
Anyone have an extra receiver laying around? Or could recommend me one? I checked on HTS, and they didn't have much in the budget range.
Negros want $1.3K for a receiver. :crap:

Well, the only use I see for 4 channels is bi-amping a stereo pair, and I'd rather use a separate PA instead of a receiver for that. Kind of useless for surround with only 4.
Or maybe quadrophonic, but nobody releases things in that anymore :D

Do you need a receiver, or would an integrated amp without the tuner section work?
$200 could buy a nice 2-channel integrated that'd last a long time...

I honestly don't know the difference in the two.
Is the only difference the tuner section?
Do you need audio processing, EQ, source switching, etc, or just amplified power?

thats a direct manufacturer refurb though, otherwise save 40 more dollars and newegg and amazon have the pioneer hk 819 for 240 shipped. really reviewed well and has features that usually come on 400-500 dollars recievers. always get a reciever with hdmi because it is becoming the standard.

Lot of integrateds (and preamps) have multiple sources, all of mine have. EQ and processing is better done outboard anyway :D

Or get that HTIB, if the receiver is comparable to the 606 (which I think it is, it might even be it...)

I don't know if the receiver in that HTIB is comparable to the 606.
And, I wouldn't use the speakers in the HTIB... so, I mean... it'd kind of be pointless to get a HTIB. I have 5 TB 2.5" speakers I got with a Logitech system that work well enough until I get more money for better components... and I think either I'll keep this TB sub or I'll turn one of my JBL subs into a HT sub tuned to like... 15hz.
