Just talked to the guy at GameStop about one. The slimmer version sure is slick. It's 120 gb compared to the 80 gb gen 1. They took out a lot of components to make room for the faster processor, but that meant that it is no longer backwards compatible with PS2 games. I'm still getting one anyway. I just picked up a Wii for my gf's nephew's B-day tommorrow.

Will you be able to play on a 13" tv? short answer = yea. Long answer= yes but it's not much fun. I've done it before and it's almost impossible to see anything on that small a tv.

Just bought a 160gb uncharted bundle on boxing day came with killzone2 and infamous. I cannot believe the difference in picture quality going from our Sharp HD-21 bluray player to the ps3 on our 50" lg plasma

New $299 PS3 Slim I think is 160gb, that is the way I would go unless I had a shitload of old PS2 games I needed backwards compatibility for.

and I would def upgrade the tv before getting one I can't see how I would be enjoyable.

Slim is actually 120gb they use a fair bit less power than the old ones. Just bought a second controller bundled with gt5 prologue for $15 less than just the controller :)

Well I'll say this.. I have a 26" TV and I immediately noticed I needed to go bigger for online play in a first person shooter.

No way I could play on a 13". Your viewing area will be more like 11".

You can DL games from the PS store, DL updates for your online games, system patches, game saves, pictures, media, movies, etc on the HD.

That being said, I would trust a used one from a game store before I bought one from CL. I'm currently looking my self. I have a SHIT TON of PS2 stuff that I'm thinking of trading in on a new PS3. We shall see.

music,movies, pictures whatever you want and also you can download game demos for free before you buy them to see if you like them. Just buy a new slim 120gb and you are done.

Make sure you do some research before buying if you want backwards comaptibilty, the slims, 160gb, 40gb, 20gb, and some 80gb's do not have BC. I Think the 60's and early 80's are the only one sthat are BC
