Fishing help

So my parent-in-laws basically do the following...work all year, go to canada and fish....other than that they go outside and take pictures of wildlife. They have two high end slr camera's so that is out.

I want to get them something awesome for fishing. I was looking to see if they made fish finders that you can use while fishing on the beach, but did not see that...so any technology for fishing?

They have fish finders you can attach to your line and cast out.

I have no idea about fishing. I am guessing they have nice gear because they fish all the time and catch lots of fish. I just have no clue what to buy them.
