besides smoke

Been here 5 years, three weeks ago it was a little smokey in the office and they went off for like 10 minutes and finally just shut off, they even kept going for like 5 mins after I turned everything off at the breaker :crap:

Since then people have smoked throughout the house 24/7 until last night in the office (first time in office since last issue) and the fuckers go of again for like 30 mins this time.. must be related to the detector in the office or right outside it in the hallway as these are the closest to my office.

They are all hard wired so when one goes off they all do, Was not sure where to start so I think I am going to shoot them out with some canned air and replace the batteries (never been changed but again they get ac power)

If that does not work I guess its either replacing all the detectors or calling an electrician... not really sure where else to go from here... the hard wired detectors are also about 5x the price of your basic battery operated version :crap:

Figured I would ask here as some of you are familiar with some of this shit.

Nope just smoke, we have CM detectors plugged into wall outlets on each floor.

I thought if they were hardwired the battery was only used should power go out. You are the second person to tell me that's wrong so hopefully that does the trick thx

Yes I know that much, but I didnt think bad batts would make alarms go off. Mine just chirp real soft to let me know the battery backups need changing.

heavy smoking (of any kind) and no ventilation could do it also

they are still programmed to tell you your choice batts need replacing. it does that so if your power goes out you still have an alarm.
