Rented both b/c I was in the same boat (PS3 though), get Bayonetta.

Darksiders is an ok game at best, but it gets way to repititive with the combat and it gets quite boring after a while. Actually the combat kinda sucks, God of War style knockoff and they failed.

Bayonetta's flaws are the cut scenes, the still cut scenes that they have. The game play is fun, LOTS of combos and its very gory/violent. Its actually very challenging, not just a button masher. Some of the torture moves/finishing moves are funny as hell (Iron Maiden, Guillotine, Spiked Wheel, etc etc)
