started my cut cycle this week... 14 weeks out from Mr. USC and 18 weeks out from state.
currently 195@ 14% BF
goal is to remain around 190-200 and get into the 5-8% bodyfat range.

i'll get some tonight... i've got a 30" waist that i'm proud of.. but all my fat deposits in my love handles... which means it will take a good bit of effort to get rid of it

I also gained 15 lbs alone in december by switching my diet from chicken to steak... and I lost body fat.

d00d...You may me big and strong and all, but you need to edumucate yourself more on this.
You can reach your bf goal in that time on a GOOD hard cut. But your not going to put on weight at the same time. And your not gaining 15lbs/month of muscle EVARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

yeh... i don't wanna go under 180 though... steak has a lot of intra-muscular fat in it... which most likely aided in my scale loss of body fat and gaining of so much weight.
i'm already on a diuretic... drinking gall-gall.5 of water a day. trying to cut back on my milk intake because that helps hold water too...

average in just muscle gains alone, naturally is peaking around 15 lbs a year for serious weightlifters.. I know it wasn't all muscle I gained, i'm not an idiot lol.

Your not going to gain 15lbs year/muscle naturally once you have been at it a while. Sorry brah. At first, yeah its very possible. Something called the law of diminishing returns.
You have a lot of learning to do.
Just think of some of the PRO bbers could put on 15lbs a year WITH roids.
10 years and they have put on 150lbs of muscle....

and no doubt you will eventually plateu, it's like a squareroot function... starts off strong and solid, then you'll eventually peak.. hopefully I can get up to 220 naturally that's my goal.

If you are 195, at 14% BF, you better be damn ready to go under 180, or else go on stage looking like an idiot, whichever you prefer.(And that goes for either show you are planning on doing). With the number you gave, if done properly, you'll be going on stage at about 168-172lbs. You should have started dieting 16 weeks out to do it properly. And take diary, fruits, and breads all out of your diet, NOW!
Also, 1-1.5 gallons of water isn't enough. That's what women drink to get ready for shows(Seriously). You should be drinking roughly a gallon alone while you are working out. You should be taking in 2-3 gallons a day.

Pro natural bodybuilders are fucking lucky if they put on 10lbs. in a year. And that's if they do everything to an exact tee, hold their tongue just right, and the stars all align perfectly.

Diuretics push out potassium, your body needs that to function! Trust me on this, while using them you need to up your potassium intake. It can be very serious if ignored.
I ignored them and developed an irregular heart rythm and was feeling faint.

Mind over matter, buddy. You are one determined mother fucker. I seriously think you should focus on doing an NPC show. You would do quite well.

Still be prepaired to be in the 170lb. range for your state show. Don't worry about what weight you'll come in at. That's the biggest mistake body builders can make. Focus on coming in lean, and proportional. I was the smallest guy in my first show at 149.5lbs. and won, beating guys who were 213lbs.

Very true. I've seen several body builders go on stage and have to be carried off, because they took too much diuretics and cramped up.
BTW, statonburrell, what the hell are you doing taking diuretics at this point in your contest prep anyways? That's plain stupid. If, and that's IF, you absolutely need to take a diuretic, you should only be using them a week or two before the show. Are you prepping yourself, or is someone telling what to do?

very true. I was very fortunate to have some one with a lot of experience help me with my first show as well, or I would have been the one idiot on stage that everyone could tell didn't know what the hell he was doing! There is always one at every show!

yeh, I luckily have a veteran helping me with mine, but this is my first time. this guy has been in comps for over 20 years... i'm writing my current diet down and showing it to him next week and he is going to make alterations to it.
