Fuck running. Sprinting/walking intervals=the shiz. I ran cross country in high school and hated it. I only got my mile down to 6:20, pathetic. After my power lifting meet I'm considering entering a competitive sprinting race.

oh and on the running thing....running is much like lifting, you just need to continually change up the distance, the pace the location and even the direction of the path. The body adapts so quickly.

My brotha!
I have always found that when just starting to get into a running routine, I have better success starting on a treadmill for the first few weeks so that I can sort of "force" myself to stay at a certain pace. Then I can slowly build up to my deisred time/distance goals. And once I start hitting those consistently, I can move it outdoors.
This worked for me because it sort of trained my body as to how fast I need to be going, and can condition my muscles and lungs where as if I just go out and run, I tend to do more walking and less jogging. And quit before I go far enough.

I've always been forced to run on treadmills because of the cold weather here but prefer outdoor. The instability of the path makes for a more difficult run, and I like that.
I like that too, but I just use the treadmill as a training tool to find my pace.

I don't know many smokers. From what I hear though, many get worse and after that it gets better (the coughing)

stopping smoking usually helps clear up the lungs... :emo:
GPS watch.
Pfft, screw that. My iphone keeps track of where I have gone, plots it out on google maps, and records all of the info (including distance, time, average pace, real time pace on a bar graph, etc...)
All while playing my musics.
pl8er
02-21-2010, 10:24 PM
that thing is like carrying around a brick, yo. Why wouldn't I want all of that weight plus have to worry about the size?? Mine is a watch that uploads to overly maps, logs your info into your own logs and updates to a website.
