I love crockpots set it and forget it. I keep meaning to buy one but I have all kinds of other shit that I need to get rid of that I don't ever use like electric can openers, food processors, blenders, ice tea machines etc.

We have gone over this numerous times. You think food is a waste of time, so your opinion means shit.

I use the crockpot all the time. It is essential.

You obviously don't cook :loco: Slow cooking ribs in the crock is baaaangin
I can see starting ribs in a crockpot, but they need to be crisp on the outside...

When my grandma made them I believe she stuck them in the broiler for a little, put them in the pot for hours, then browned them a little on the grill again. I can't say it's the same exact texture as how ribs are normally done, but I like em.
I know some people believe in boiling ribs first before grilling. This adds water which will partially cook off on the grill, and make for nice moist meat. This also partially cooks the meat, so you can grill it for a shorter amount of time on the grill, making for an easier cooking experience and allows you to sear the meat making for a nice texture.
I still think this is cheating. You can get great results with a dry rub, and very low temp cooking over fire. Takes a lot of patience, time, and temperature control, but real ribs are done over fire only IMO.

boiling ribs is wrong it a cheater way to fake proper results. they should almost fall of the bone when cooked right and never boil or soak them ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww gross that's like a stinky british boiled meat crap. I cook ribs and make great ones never boiled. make a nice rub and go to town on them.
Mmmmmm... this looks far better than that mushroom steak flip is trying to convince us was good.

The secret is to marinate them or rub them, but cook them verrrrrry slowly. And don't be stingy with the marinade.
