So after so many years of eating like complete shit, not giving a fuck & doing nothing more than smoking pot and sitting around like a fucktard.. I think I finally wanna change shit up.

I have never had a good diet.. just kinda eat what is in front of me. Fast food, whatever.. I'm extremely picky too.. so it makes it hard for me to stick to a good diet.

Now, I'm asking my fitness guru friends for teh :help:.

Starting weight:
http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p170/J31Rob/picture-307.jpg

I'm 6'2"ish.. I've got next to no real muscle, haven't lifted a single weight since I was 16. :embarassed:

Where do I start?

I'm still doing pretty well on not smoking cigarettes. I have maybe 1-2 a day anymore.

so your tall and thin....I'm confused on what your goals are here.

I want to be in better shape. My lower back hurts a lot & I think it's because of the lack of muscle..

and before my woman got pregnant I was ~165lbs. I've gained quite a bit here in the last few months & I'd like to cut it out & replace it with lean muscle.

J31Bro
02-27-2010, 08:43 PM

Soft, trying to lose.. not gain bulk.. but just muscle in general.

pl8er

hrm....you are a scrawny dude. I honestly thought you were thin now. I'm 5 10 and 209 right now. Of course, lifting is my hobby so naturally i'll carry more weight than you.

If you were to guess your percentage of body fat, what would it be? Do you know it?

pl8er

you cannot just gain muscle. You will add some bulk.

pl8er
02-27-2010, 08:46 PM
you could define your body from what it is, but you would be a cut version of what you are now, no way you would get bigger.

Right.. I have no idea how to calculate such things. :crap:

Alright.

Just so we're clear, my terminology on this subject is sub par at best. So bear with me.

I'm willing to gain, weight isn't my overall concern. I'd just like to be a healthier, stronger version of what I am now. Being long & lanky makes it hard for me to bulk up in the first place since I've got "long" muscle, right?

right you want to do some lean gains...so its pretty straight forward. Lean proteins etc

for instance my wife just brought me in my plate of dinner.

1 cup rice
8 oz chicken breast cut up
not sure how much shrimp
scallops

no butters no salts......actually look under health and fitness in my pl8er motivation thread

Yes, I do actually.

I love chicken, it just gets old after a while.. I don't know many different ways of preparing chicken healthily. Although we DID get a NuWave oven.. shit is supposed to be healthy to the max.

..and I'm not so much "on a health kick".. would just like to be able to keep up with my daughter as we get older. I don't want anything to hold me back.

It sounds like your food is under control. I just recently learned about the way the body interacts with carbs/protein etc.

If you are being active, and eating right, something is missing here. I'm thinking you are complacent to something you are doing that is impacting you. Perhaps it is just as easy as you are eating way too much per meal. Smaller meals, more times a day.

I'm not active, I USED to play basketball & USED to run.. and I don't eat worth a shit right now.

I'm saying that all of that should be pretty easy to change, if I stick to it.

Being dismorphic is common with people who workout. You see yourself everyday changing and don't notice the dramatic changes.

I agree 100%. My job is pretty strenuous some days.. normally I just drive a fork lift but I'll help package & repackage units of wood.. lots of work.

Wii, I has. FTW.

I got P90X.. I want to do it.. but wow. I've never done something like that before. :puke:

I think I might give P90x a try. I have a few buddies who use it and say it is pretty bomb.

Make sure you smoke first. It enhances the excercise by regulating the your oxygen intake. It's in the manual.

What kind are you looking for? We're eating a lot better.. exercising is still somewhat of an issue due to our busy schedules.. slow process but eventually everything will be set in stone.

Excuse #1.

You will now fail.

jk, but seriously, if you have time to CT and FB, you have time to at least do something at home.

JROB don't cheat because he knows he won't learn anything that way.

Been working myself into getting used to eating so many small meals rather than a couple big meals. I'm horrible with breakfast, have never ate it.. but I am now.

Wife went & got some more new shit after we referred back to your recent Sams Club/Costcos adventure thread.. I'd say I'm still in the starting stages.. I catch myself snagging up snacks here & there without even thinking about it. Breaking bad habits is what I'm working on right now. :crap:

...I was always taught that in school. If you didn't cheat all the time, you would have too.

Good for you guys! You are moving in the right direction. Habits are hard to break but just keep realizing you are making them and work to eliminate more and more each day.
