That generally, the best practice is to download the newest albums/shows/whatever that are seeing a disproportionately high volume of hits. (as mentioned by a few members on the site).
On RevolutionTT (which i was given an account with a good start, anyway) this simply consisted of hopping on Jeremy Clarkson's show right out the gate. But on waffles.fm it consisted of entering a blank search and prioritizing results by date (newest) and then going down the line and seeing which is getting the most traffic. One thing i generally look for aside from a lot of seeds/DLs in relation to the time uploaded, but also leachers, people who are waiting in line to get the file. I have a shit load of albums that i didn't necessarily want (at least 125) but even thats been alright as i've found some new artists and avoided metal, etc.
After about a couple or so of trying to build a positive ratio on waffles i'm at .94 with 19.5gb DLed. At least 20gb up with a 1.01+ ratio is where i need to be to get power user status.
I'll offer up some waffles.fm invites when i get them. Figured this may help people trying to build up their ratio.
Also, i have a shitty shitty upstream. I can download at roughly 2.0mb down, but only 150kb up.
