What you'll need
2cup peanut butter
2cup oats
Honey-add as much as you want 16tsp gets them nice and sweet
Protein Powder-I add 4 scoops of 24G
Milk-for When the mixture become dry.
PAM-Spray that shit on the spoon peanut butter is sticky!
Measuring Cup

Once you have 2 cups of Peanut butter in the bowl add the honey then microwave till its runny take about 60seconds.
Add the the 2cups of oats stir. Then add the Protein again I add 4 scoops of 24G but add however much you want.
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/xtgrovex/SafeRedirect34.jpg
The mix will become dry so add some milk in so it mixes better.
Even out with a Spatula put in the fridge for a couple hours then section them out and Walla you have a calorie dense protein bar right there better than any sissy store bar.

I sometimes use that same GNC protein when I want to change it up. Plus can't beat the price $24/5lbs, even if it isn't 100% whey.

Haha I don't use GNC protein anymore. I order my Optimum protein online and it comes in a big ass bag so I pour in into the GNC container. If you want I can hook you up with link to some better and more protein for less than GNC. Took me awhile but I'm a good shopper.

sons of bitches up the price a little. Anyway still not bad if you compare it gram for gram instead of weight to most other proteins. For example gnc is only 17G per serving this protein is 24G per serving.

Yea for me it's usually either ON 100% Whey or the extremely cheap GNC brand. Nice price on the 10lb bag, cheaper than BB.com.
I'm digging the Double Rich Chocolate flavor right now.

I may try it with not near as much honey.
Cheaper than paying $1.85 a protein bar like I do. A lot of the calories come from the honey, I assume?

Yea, and peanut butter is calorie dense. I wouldn't recommend these if you're on a cut. Or just have them in smaller potions.

I was thinking more protein powder, less honey..I got about 8 more lbs to lose.
ThomasG

That would be fine as long as if you're aloud fat in your diet. Reducing the honey will significantly lower the carbs and sugar.

use isolate and low carb honey/peanut butter. costs might jump a few bucks but itd taste the same and give you a leaner/higher protein mix if youre trying to lose fat or stay lean.

A few months ago in 220 magazine there were a few recipes for home made energy bars. Unfortunately I cant find the article but would like to make some of the ones with peanut butter in them.
Can anybody dig out the recipe and post it please?

Alright I dont know where the topic went but Here is the original recipe:
MagicPunts MRBs Meal Replacement Bars: For Bulking
Combine in large mixing bowl:
3 Cups Oatmeal
1/2 Cup Natural Peanut butter
1 cup Skim Milk
4 Scoops Protein Powder
dash of cinnamon
Mix with a large spoon or knife until a sticky batter is formed may take a few minutes.
Use the spoon or knife to spread out the mix into the bottom of a Pam-sprayed glass or metal cooking tray spread until even.
Top with 4-8 packets splenda
Put in the fridge overnight and cut into 8 equal bars that yield:
11g fat good monounsaturated fats
26g carbs
21g protein
285 calories
I halfed the recipe to try it out and they are good bars but extremely soft and gooey. So what I did was, I made a wooden frame 7 inches by 7 inches and 1 inch thick. I placed tinfoil into the frame and wrapped the excess around the edges.
I sprayed the bottom with no-stick spray. Then I sprinkled a third of a Shredded Wheat biscuit evenly around the bottom. While mixing the ingredients in a bowl what a forearm workout I crushed up the rest of the Shredded Wheat in with it.
I put the mix into the tin foiled frame and carefully spreaded it out flat to almost the edges of the frame. I crushed up 1 Caramel Rice Cake in a bag and sprinkled it over the top and into the edges. Then I pressed the Rice cake pieces into the mix to make it perfectly flat and to ensure the rice cake pieces would stick to the mix.
When I pulled them out of the fridge the next day and cut them up they turned out perfect. A good tasting bar with a solid texture you can wrap in a ziplock and put in your lunchbox.
Just thought Id share.
Its a sucky picture but this is what they look like, sort of. Some of the frame is in the pic too.

For the record, I tried making these again using 16 TEAspoons of honey, and they turned out dry and tasted like shit. Crumbled away in my hands.
I think the OP is supposed to say 16 TABLEspoons of honey because I have used that amount twice now and it works perfectly. (16 Tbsp = 1 cup) <- Makes measuring easier.
