I bought a laptop

15" widescreen Dell (17 inches wide though...weird.), Pentium dual core, 3gb ram, HD LCD, DVD+RWDL...blah blah.....

Decided I needed a laptop and since Win 7 is a good OS I picked the hardware I wanted and away we go. Fast as hell. Very useful.


Anyone have one of these? I am really liking it. All stealthy and black like.

i3 has 4 threads (2 cores) 4gb ram win7 and pretty damn good speakers. Backlit keyboard too.

Major con is no separate graphics card. The laptop is actually for my wife.

My Dell Mini 9 hackintosh I had last year was badass, but the 1545 kexts are not perfected yet so it won't sleep, you have to shut it off. Not acceptable, but hopefully one day. Until then 7 is fine.

Yeah aside of the fact it reboots itself twice a day from blue screening after it has been to sleep with the lid closed and power was unplugged without

~ opening the lid
~ unlocking the screen to the desktop
~ unplugging the laptop
~ putting the lid back closed
~ continuing to what you were doing when you wanted to take the laptop with you.

Google search = Win 7 bullshit everyone goes through. *finger to windows* but the laptop is still nice. Will be hackintoshing it. Long as I am going to have to reboot every time, might as well be running OS X

I'm sorry you had a bad experience with your Dell. I have not had the same experience. Currently I'm running an XPS m1330 fully loaded. I've only had one problem with the computer overheating and frying the motherboard due to a faulty nVidia beta Win 7 graphics driver. Dell replaced the motherboard for free even though the laptop came with Vista. It is now triple booting Win 7 x64 (with lots of mods), Ubuntu, and Snow Leopard. It's also running faster than ever.


I think it is you who fails at laptops.
