Im really wanting a new system i guess really between the 360 and ps3,
I want the Ps3 because of the blu ray, got a few friends with one and ive had the last two playstations so im pretty use to it,
But,
Im Also thinking about getting a 360 due to the cost and the amount of people i know with one.
So whats the pros and cons of each system and what would be the better buy or should i just wait for the next system to come out, im tires of my wii and hardly play it due to the lack of games that interest me on the wii

I went through the same thing a few months back. Picked up the PS3 because of Bluray, less rate of failure compared to the 360,the fact that if I wanted to 'hack' it then it does not kick me off live, online play is free.
I would say 95% of my PS3 use is streaming videos, if you tend to get bored with games and will probably not be gaming like crazy I suggest the PS3 just because of the Bluray in itself as it seems to be the next standard we are going to be using for a while even though to be honest I am yet to actually watch a Bluray on it :)

The one thing I did prefer about the 360 was I think the system itself looks better and the 360 controllers > ps3 controllers IMO.

I don't think I could ever go with a ps3 over a 360, the blue ray is nice, but it's not that nice. at least not $200 dollar difference nice.
Plus Xbox Live > Playstations whatever they call it.
And I think the exclusive 360 games are better than the ones for PS
Also, 360 > ps3 controllers

Actually, the new chip fails a lot less. Plus they extended their warranty. I believe any Xbox system that gets The 3RROD, you can have it repaired para gratis (for freeeee).
But, I'd choose the 360 myself. The game choice is better. However, I watch all of my movies on my computer, and my TV is just an SDTV, so I can't access the PS3's full power.
And they have 360 firmwares that are ghosts on Live. You can get Live for free and play games. It's FTW. I wish my Xbox was still alive.

I dunno, I like the game library much more for the 360, also hands down the 360 remote is more comfortable.
Yah, it's kind of corporate-ized... but the quality of the online play, all the features, and the support are great. As far as reliability, the new 360's don't have the massive failure problem, and they also come with HDMI.
The price the 60GB 360 is at now is ridiculous. I almost wanted to pick one up, also TigerDirect has 60GB refurb's for $179!!
Anyways, I like the games, the online play... but more than anything I use my 360 for media server and streaming my entire library via the network from my 750GB HD... all my movies, TV shows, Music... it's great.

Exactly this. PS3 is a great system. But with the current technology, no one can produce a game that is "cutting edge" for the PS3 that pushes it to it's maximum capability. As it is, most of the new games they're making for PS3 they're also releasing for PS2. Which says a lot about the success of the PS3. Over all, I think the 360 is a much better deal. if I were to pick one, it'd be the 360. It can stream HD movies, it has a wide selection of games, and the online play is nice. Even though they charge you for it, which I find ridiculous.

they release them for the ps2 because ps2 is so widespread in the world they have to. xbox is mostly us canada and UK some france. play more ps2 24 hours a day and you get every nation you can think of playing with you.

I am not much of a gamer, but my cousin's ps3 works great.
We threw in a new 250GB sata and I really like the backup utility on the ps3.
He doesn't know much about computers so I helped him back it up to my external hard drive and the PS3 OS is loaded in internal memory instead of the hard drive.
It is really easy to backup and get everything loaded back the way it was before the upgrade.
I agree with most when saying the 360 has alot more "gamer" games.
Resident Evil 5 is pretty cool though. I like how you can be playing one player and someone just jump in on co-op mode.

the 360 controllers are better but you can always use them on the ps3 with this adapter
http://www.extreme-mods.com/XCM-Cross-Battle-Adapter-Plus-for-Playstation-3-p/ps3-xcmcrossbattleadapterplus.htm
and if microsoft would add a bluray and learn how to build there consoles so they dont keep breaking i would have kept my 360 but i am much happier with my ps3

This is why I use my PC to game. I can use any controller, and the games look frakking amazing.
